Yoseli has a tattoo of the Eiffel Tower on her back and has always wanted to travel, but she was arrested at the airport for drug trafficking. In jail, she meets Nacho, a trans man detained for fraud. He started a rock band inside the prison, and Yoseli joins the other inmates to sing, dance, and re-enact her life in Buenos Aires. “Reas” is a collective work that reinvents the musical genre: the performers in this documentary dance and sing about their past in prison, relive their life as fiction, and invent, through fantasy and imagination, a possible future for themselves.
The film received a special mention for best documentary at Lima Film Festival. It was also screened at the Berlin International Film Festival and at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
