Jornal da Mostra

In its 45th edition, Mostra Internacional de Cinema in São Paulo pays tribute to Portuguese filmmaker Paulo Rocha (1935-2012), by presenting seven of his main feature films; which portrays the restless and ever-changing career of one of the leading names in New Portuguese Cinema.

Will  be screened the films The Green Years (1963), The Change of Life (1966), The Island of Love (1982), A Ilha de Moraes (1984), Máscara de Aço Contra o Abismo Azul (1988), River of Gold (1988) and If I Were a Thief... I’d Steal (2012).

The film Around Rocha’s Table, by Samuel Barbosa, will also be part of the program. It’s a documentary that brings a reflection on Paulo Rocha`s relation with people, characters, places, settings, arts and artists that define his work.

The Retrospective Paulo Rocha is a collaboration between Mostra and Cinemateca Portuguesa - Museu do Cinema.
