Born in Tehran, Iran, in 1981. He studied the English language, and became involved in film journalism. Dormishian served as an assistant director to several prestigious Iranian filmmakers, including Dariush Mehrjui, and Alireza Davoudnejad. His feature film credits include "Hatred" (2012), "I`m Not Angry!" (2014), screened at the 38th Mostra and the Berlinale`s Panorama section, "Lantouri" (2016, 40th Mostra), and "White Chairs" (2017), presented at the 41st Mostra.
