Born in Georgia in 1973. He studied film production at the Georgian State University, in Tbilisi, but because of the war started to work as a journalist. Later, Koguashvili studied film directing in Moscow and graduated in the film program from the Tisch School of the Arts Graduate, in New York. He made the fiction feature films Street Days (2010) and Blind Dates (2013), both presented at Mostra. He also directed the documentaries Women from Georgia (2009) and Gogita’s New Life (2016).
