The 12th raffle of the lottery is won by thousands of people, but until the result is published, all of them believe to be the only winners. Amongst the lucky ones, there is a priest that is seduced by the Devil disguised as a sacristan, and approves gambling with the promise that his church will have half of the prize, and the prostitutes Neuza, Suely, Zefa and Noêmia, that resign from the brothel they work in and will have to go back there downcast.
