Vulcan Junction (1999)

Sobre o filme

Nine days in the lives of five young Israelis and an American who live in the industrial district of Haifa, in Israel. The period extends from September 28, 1973 through Yom Kippur on October 6, the day war breaks out between Israel, Egypt, and Syria. Michael Shelly and Danny Raphaeli are part of a rock band by name Genetic Code. They dream of winning the world, although they are a success only at a local pub, the Vulcan Junction, owned by Jimmy Smith, a 40-year-old American. Michael is the vocalist, with Danny at the keyboard for the band. With them is Yidgar, a fireman who plays percussion. They are invited to play at an audition in an important recording company in Haifa, but only Michael is given a proposal for a contract. Dália, who writes for an important political newspaper, is divided between Michael and Avi Elbaz, a football player selected to be part of the glorious Ajax team in Amsterdam. All of them are about to change their lives in this nostalgic journey through the last days of innocence, in face of the cruelty and injustice of war. These are the final moments before all of the country is engulfed in a war that will change it forever.
