Summer in the Golden Valley (2003)
Sobre o filme
Fikret Varupa is 16 years old, with all it takes to become a teenager on the path to delinquency. At his father’s funeral, he discovers his father was owing money to Hamid, a stranger to Fikret, now heir to the debt - a huge amount of money. To pay off the debt means to return the honor to the family and allow his father’s soul to rest in peace. Humiliated by the charges, Fikret decides he will spare no effort to try and pay everything back, a difficult task in Saravejo, plunged in chaos and poverty, post-war. Fikret meets two corrupt policemen and is involved in the kidnapping of a little girl. "I am from a generation of children whose parents left a legacy of destroyed cities, chaos, and a shattered society. The film is about this time in which we, the children, had to choose between correcting our parents’ mistakes or losing all," explains Director Srdjan Vuletic.
