Black and White (2004)

Sobre o filme

An approach to the racial relations between common citizens in the city of São Paulo. Episodic by nature, the film includes four short films covering a history of 500 years. It presents an issue that is rarely broached on the screen. On one hand, the Brazilian racial model has been historically regarded as the original solution for the everlasting ethnical intolerance on the planet. On the other hand, it is also regarded as a farce to conceal the social abyss between black and white. In fact, is the idea that Brazil is a country where races co-exist and blend harmoniously a hypocritical myth, or is it a great hope for the future of human co-existence?
