Young Adam (2003)

Sobre o filme

Based on the novel of the same name by Alexander Trocchi (1925-1984), regarded as the only Scottish representative of the beat generation. The main character is Joe Taylor, a young man who finds a job on a small barge linking Glasgow to Edinburgh, carrying coal. The boat is captained by Leslie Gault and his wife, Ella. One day, Joe discovers the corpse of a woman floating on the waters. An accident, suicide, or murder? While the police investigate the case, one realizes that Joe knows more than it might seem. His past comes to the surface in flashbacks, as also his relationship with the dead woman. In the meanwhile, Joe tries to quell his remorse in the arms of Ella, all of which further exacerbates the tension in the small craft. David Byrne’s sound track propels along this journey in murky waters.
