The Day Neil Armstrong Walked on the Moon (1999)

Sobre o filme

The sun shone brightly for the Hamilton family?s Xmas lunch - the only time, year round, when they were all together, now that all four children had grown up and left home. The grandchildren ran about through the living room and out in the garden and were not aware of the precise moment in which the apparent harmony was shattered - when Michael, age 33 remarked that his father, Jack, age 62, had never devoted any time to him when he was a child. This statement hit his father like a bomb, and lunch was now a battle ground. Accusations and memories set father and son opposite each other and face to face. The argument becomes more heated. Under pressure, Jack gives in to the family and sets out with his son on a journey they should have gone on twenty years before. Together they traverse the vast deserts and savannahs of Australia and discover how little they really know about one another. Both are, however, sure that something happened between them on the day Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon.
