Gerard, a boy of 17, and Bruno, have just broken off their relationship. In his distress, Gerard wanders the streets of Mexico City and every man he sees brings back memories of his lover. He would like to keep something of this love, but it is like holding down clouds as they vanish in the sky. His only consolation is a letter, but Gerard does not understand that the letter has nothing to do with him. His pain renders him insensitive to reality: he can only see in others the reflection of his mortified ego and is finally wrapped in solitude.
