Slaves of the Lord (2002)
Sobre o filme
In a small settlement in Israel, Tamar is preparing for her ‘bat mitzvah’, the ceremony that symbolically marks the passage of a girl into adulthood. On the eve of another religious occasion, ‘pessach’, Tamar becomes aware of the changes in her and is convinced that she is impure – that she contaminates all she touches. Esther, the teacher who offers her guidance in her spiritual search, teaches her the relationship between bodily hygiene and ritual purification. But Tamar’s behavior becomes obsessive: she tries to clean everything and not touch anything. Shaken, she resorts to the sacred writings in the hopes she will find answers to her ever more schizophrenic obsession.
