Based on the book of the same name by Director Virginie Despentes, the film was to have been directed by Philippe Godeau who could not find two actresses for the main roles. The solution came last year when Despentes saw a documentary on porn actresses where he discovered Karen Bach and Raffaela Anderson. There he also found former porn actress Coralie Trinh Thi with whom he co-directed the film. "I share a warrior vision of vanguard feminism with Virginie and an unmistakable taste for provocation", declared Trinh Thi. Actresses Bach and Anderson play the part of heroines Nadine and Manu, two drug addicts who want to stay alive at any price. To them, violence, humor, sex, and music are effective means to escape from what they despise: obedience, submission, boredom, and self-denial. They feel alive when they have sex or when they kill someone. Nothing can control them. This a road-movie in the raw, shot on video, that raised indignation in France. Owing to the crudity of the images, the French censors decided to rank the film as pornographic.
