A description based on the play of the same name by William Shakespeare, the only text of the playwright in prose. A comedy on the misadventures of rascal João Fausto, a Portuguese ex-soldier who goes to Minas Gerais with friends Luís and Pistola. He passes as a former member of Court from the Empire to become a lover to Ladies Lima and Rocha and take their fortune, but the two friends decide to seek revenge for the affront. Mr. Rocha, is jealous and pursues Fausto, unaware of his wife’ fidelity. The angry husband mobilizes his friends to unmask Lady Rocha, including Lima, engaged in selecting a husband for his daughter.
