Black God, White Devil (1964)

Sobre o filme

Manuel and Rosa sub-exist in the northeastern hinterland through work provided to a landlord. On the day of the division of cattle between Manuel and the landlord, the two argue and Manuel avenges the injustice with blood. Manuel decides to follow Blessed Sebastião. Rosa, always skeptical of Sebastião’s power, tries to persuade her husband to give up the holy life. When Manhuel shares with him a sacrifice of a child, Rosa, desperate, murders the blessed while Antônio das Mortes devastates all of Sebastião’s followers. Manuel and Rosa, once again, surrender to the destiny of the sertão, until they find Corisco, the blond devil, who accepts the inclusion of Manuel in his gang.
